    What You Will Do:

    **Pratt & Whitney East Hartford Repair Operations (EHRO)** is looking for a **Senior Principle Engineer** focused on **CMM and Metrology** . This is a fast-paced technical position requiring personnel management, project management and technical skills to support MRO operations and long-term projects. This position supports engine part repair for all PW fleets and has exposure to key commercial and military programs.

     

    In this role, you will be leading and mentoring a team of contract CMM programmer employees who perform the day-to -day CMM programming / troubleshooting activities. This team creates CMM programs for new products and new repairs/inspections, as well as modernization of legacy CMM methods and equipment. This person will develop CMM strategies (hardware, software, techniques) that position EHRO for long term success.

     

    This role will also be focused on implementation of new metrology techniques (non-contact scanning). This includes technology evaluation, procurement, calibration standards, industrialization and integration into operations. Must understand the capabilities/limitations of the latest technologies and develop strategies to transform operations in a controlled and impactful way.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Managing a team of CMM programmers to meet operational needs

    + Evaluate and prioritize work across all product lines

    + Ensure control and consistency of approach to CMM programming and management

    + Evaluate and introduce the latest measurement technologies in compliance with the PW quality system

    + Develop targeted measurement solutions with focus on MSA standards

    + Have a deep passion for researching new technologies and continuous learning

    + A strong desire to learn and have the technical skill to drive operations, rapid problem solving and continuous improvement

    + EHRO is an FAA regulated facility and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment.

    + Work with all levels of management, shop personnel and partners.

    + Demonstrate strong leadership skills, analytical thinking and strong customer focus.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    + Advanced degree and 7+ years of experience in Engineering, Operations, Aerospace, or industry; **OR** Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.

    + 5+ years of CMM programming experience using embedded macros.

    + 1+ year of Personnel Management or general supervisory experience required.

    + Ability to interpret blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    + Advanced degree in Science/Technology/Engineering

    + Experience with multiple CMM programming languages (Camio, Modus, PCDMis, Valysis etc.)

    + Management experience within a bargaining unit / union workforce environment.

    + Engineering experience in manufacturing environment, and working knowledge of shop practices, processes, procedures and machinery.

    + Aerospace industry experience ideally in Aftermarket, MRO, or OEM manufacturing

    + Familiar with P&W Engine Manuals, Standard Practice Manuals and Technical Orders or equivalent is helpful.

    + Experience with problem-solving tools such as root cause and corrective action (RCCA).

    + Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma).

    + Experience using Microsoft Office, Solumina, SAP, or similar MRP/ERP systems.

    + Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers.

    The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
