The Reality Labs Silicon team explores, develops, and delivers new cutting-edge technologies that serve as the foundation of current and future Reality Labs products. From mixed reality and human interaction to natural input and beyond, the silicon team focuses on taking new technologies from early concept to the product level while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up. The team's mission is to develop cutting-edge image processing, computer vision, and machine learning(ML) core technologies for on-device imaging in combination with cloud computing. We are combining ML and classic algorithms to achieve product requirements.

    Required Skills:

    Image Processing and Machine Learning Engineer Responsibilities:

    1. Develop algorithms for image processing and computer vision that are based on machine learning and classic approaches

    2. Develop machine learning models that interact efficiently with specialized imaging hardware, optimizing for performance, energy efficiency, and scalability

    3. Run ML models, including training, optimization, and analysis of results

    4. Perform image and video quality evaluations using both objective and subjective methods

    5. Build new tools and workflows for evaluating and improving the visual quality and computational efficiency of vision systems

    6. Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design algorithms that leverage specialized accelerators or custom silicon for optimized performance

    Minimum Qualifications:

    7. 2+ years experience in developing and implementing advanced algorithms for imaging, computer vision, or machine learning applications

    8. Experience in Python and/or MATLAB, and C++

    9. Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other related tools

    10. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

    11. Experience with designing image processing or computer vision algorithms optimized for specialized hardware such as GPUs, Digital Signal Processors (DSP), or custom Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC)

    12. Proven track record of achieving significant results, as demonstrated by first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences in imaging, computer vision, or machine learning (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML)

    13. Demonstrated experience in designing tools for data processing, visualization, and performance evaluation

    14. Knowledge of image and video quality metrics and evaluation methodologies

    15. Experience with software-hardware co-design and developing models that interact with low-level system components

    16. Familiarity with state-of-the-art techniques in computational imaging, computer vision, or Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) applications

    Public Compensation:

    $114,000/year to $166,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
