Reporting to the Marxe School Budget Finance Manager, the Budget Finance Specialist will assist with the following:
+ Administration of budget and expenditure activity for all business units.
+ Preparation of budget and expenditure reports for all business units.
+ Administer the Dean’s Research Award program in accordance with established guidelines and agreements.
+ Administer payment of faculty salary supplements and summer 9ths.
+ Process invoices and payments for all business units.
+ Communicate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services, resolve discrepancies, and gather required documentation for timely invoice processing.
+ Manage all Purchase Order (PO) requests taking place both in and outside of CUNYBuy, ensuring they align with expenditure guidelines and procurement policies, particularly for technology-related expenses.
+ Compile and submit monthly American Express statements, verifying accuracy and compliance with Baruch expenditure guidelines.
+ Administer all vendor payments, reimbursements, transfers, deposits, requisitions and check requests for all business units.
+ Coordinate the hiring and onboarding process for all part-time staff, including processing ePAFs and new hire paperwork.
+ Assist part-time staff with timesheet submission for all business units.
+ Approve Adjunct ePAFs and monitor adjunct encumbrances.
+ Run and review with the Budget Finance Manager the revenue and expenditure reports from systems of record for each business unit on a regular basis.
+ Monitor use and timely processing of all P-cards and T-cards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required

- Prepares budget analyses and produces forecasting projections
- Analyzes spending, income trends and usage to recommend improvements
- Ensures that final, approved budget is adhered to by tracking revenues and expenses; processes budget transfers and adjustments
- Provides fiscal reports and financial statements to management
- Supports supervisor with budget administration to meet department goals and objectives
- May supervise subordinate staff
- Performs related duties as assigned.
