    Job Description

    **DUTIES:** Design and release of high voltage, lithium-ion battery components. Work with a high-performance team and responsible for the design and packaging of battery components. Oversee design and packaging of battery components. Work with Designers to ensure interface and packaging compatibility both internally and externally. Work with other component owners to select appropriate designs. Reuse parts where appropriate. Work with manufacturing to ensure build ability and to determine quality requirements. Work to support manufacturing in root cause. Work with service to ensure serviceability. Support purchasing in sourcing of components. Oversee and support DFMEA and Design Reviews Based on Test Results (DRBTR). Track validation status and review results. Resolve all development and validation issues. Manage change control. Work with the Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) Lead Design Release Engineer to execute optimal RESS design. Provide and manage component timing plan. Execute and support Peer Reviews per program milestones. Work with component suppliers to meet design and timing objectives. Up to 20% travel required. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.

    **REQUIREMENTS:** Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field of study and 5 years of experience as a Design Release Engineer, Product Engineer, Computer Aided Engineer, or related role. Five years of experience with: Engineering theory including fundamental of electrical engineering, thermodynamics, mechanical structures, system engineering; Computer skills including analyzing data and creating presentation; Technical writing ability to create written engineering evaluation reports; Read, interpret, and generate engineering drawings and specifications

     

    including requirement decomposition and definition of STS/SSTS/CTS, CAD and 2D drawings of responsible components, DFMEA/PFMEA; CAD and CAE; GD&T principles including engineering build stacks, design tolerance, integration, and manufacturing tolerance; Writing specifications and managing suppliers with ‘build to spec’ parts; Structural, thermal, and

     

    electrical analysis tools including various FEA/CFD CAE tools, Saber, MATLAB, Excel; Managing OEMs or suppliers on critical timelines; and Unigraphics NX.
