Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS **:**
+ Room patient, open note to include reason for visit and perform vitals (is NOT able to review or update medication lists).
+ Assures patient safety and comfort through use of safe patient handling techniques, environmental maintenance, equipment maintenance, and other appropriate safety measures.
+ Assists with room preparation in between patient visits.
+ Collects and processes basic lab and tests (i.e. EKG, glucometer,etc.)
+ Transportspatients as necessary.
+ Perform office duties and tasks(registration, scheduling,referrals, copying, filing, retrieval of films/medical records, etc.)
+ Sets up, operates, and maintains selected pieces of equipment
+ Maintains supply inventory and stocks supplies in various work areas.
+ Participates in Performance Improvement projects.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED **:**
+ Completion of one of the following:
+ MercyOne Patient Care Tech training program.
+ A 75-hour/120-hour certified Nursing Assistant Program
+ A 136-hour certified EMT program.
+ An accredited Medical Assistant Program.
+ An accredited Radiography Technology Program (for limited radiography) and possess a State of Iowa Limited Radiographer Certification.
+ High School diploma or GED.
+ Must be at least 16 years of age.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
+ Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire.
