Job Description

To provide academic support to 100 TRIO SSS Students. This position is responsible to provide academic advising, transfer advising, financial aid information, scholarship information, financial literacy, and other academic advising services. Organize and provide cultural and educational activities/events for TRIO SSS students as per grant requirements. Assist with year-round recruiting and recordkeeping. Provide both community and LSC referrals as appropriate to TRIO SSS students to include tutoring services. Be an advocate for TRIO SSS students when necessary to ensure academic success.

Salary Range:

$25.29 - $36.71

Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in related field with 2 years related work experience.

+ Knowledge of Trio/Student Support Services Grant objectives and history of program.

+ Experience working with first generation/low income students, students with disabilities, culturally and racially diverse populations.

+ Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualification

+ Knowledge of federal, state and institutional policies and processes.

+ Strong organizational skills.

+ Must have strong advocacy and collaboration skills.

+ Ability to think outside the box.

+ Ability to work well in a team setting.

+ Ability to build strong professional relationships with TRIO SSS students, TRIO SSS Staff, LSC Staff, faculty, administration, community members and non-LSC TRIO staff.

+ Prefer a TRIO alumni or have similar experience as TRIO SSS students while attending college.

+ Demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds, and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives.

**Location:** Duluth Campus - 2101 Trinity Road, Duluth, MN 55811

**Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)** Monday – Thursday 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Friday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
