Title: Clinical Practice & Training Manager
Reports to : Sr. Director of Clinical Development & Training
Schedule: Monday to Friday; Hybrid schedule. Occasional evenings may be required to be arranged in conjunction with the Senior Director of Clinical Development & Training
Salary: $90,000 -$110,000
Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Clinical Development & Training, the Clinical Practice & Training Manager leads the design and implementation of training and development initiatives that align with evidence-based practices, regulatory standards, and Project Renewal’s mission. This role plays a key part in advancing clinical excellence across the agency through targeted staff development, field supervision, and licensure support.
The Manager works collaboratively across departments to develop and deliver training on clinical topics, trauma-informed care, crisis response, harm reduction, and program-specific practices. This role also provides individual and group supervision for staff pursuing advanced clinical licensure and oversees field placements for MSW interns.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Training & Development
+ Design, develop, and deliver training programs and materials (e.g., in-person workshops, e-learning, job aids) tailored to staff roles and agency goals.
+ Conduct ongoing research to ensure training content reflects current evidence-based and culturally responsive practices.
+ Participate in post-incident debriefings to identify training needs and inform continuous improvement.
+ Travel regularly to program sites across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx to provide on-site training, observation, and consultation.
+ Track and document training activities, including attendance, feedback, and learning outcomes.
+ Participate in meetings and planning sessions to align training with programmatic and operational needs.
Supervision & Field Instruction
+ Provide individual and group supervision for staff pursuing advanced clinical licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMHC).
+ Supervise MSW and Mental Health Counselor interns placed across agency programs.
+ Maintain accurate documentation for supervision and field instruction hours.
Qualifications:
+ Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with at least five years of relevant experience in behavioral health.
+ Strong track record of working with individuals impacted by housing instability, trauma, mental illness, and substance use.
+ At least two years’ experience in delivering training, workshops, or public speaking engagements.
+ Expertise in Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Trauma-Informed Care, crisis response, and clinical supervision.
+ Knowledge of adult learning principles and ability to transform theory into practice using innovative and engaging learning methods
+ Proficient in PowerPoint, Canva, Prezi, and other tools for content creation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Able to take initiative, adapt to changing needs, and build strong relationships across diverse teams.
+ Familiarity with cultural humility and a strong grounding in social justice-informed practice.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred:
+ Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) certified
+ A creative and flexible thinker with a collaborative spirit
