Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a web application programmer who is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining complex application systems to support the goals of our Higher Education client's community. The position is responsible for maintaining the centralized IIS web server cluster and multiple commercial and custom Microsoft .NET applications supporting Technology Services, HR, Campus Police, Business Services, and a variety of internal and external customers. This environment spans a broad spectrum of .NET technologies, reflecting a mix of legacy systems and modern development. The new hire will need to be comfortable navigating and supporting this range. A critical part of the role is managing IAS servers, especially a clustered environment. The client uses a two-node system called Pub Apps and the nodes are synchronized using DFSR (Distributed File System Replication). The candidate doesnt need to have built such a system from scratch but must understand the architecture and be able to maintain and troubleshoot it. The target pay rate is between $50-60/hr and based on experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain complex .NET-based application systems.
- Support and maintain the centralized IIS web server cluster and a variety of commercial and custom .NET applications.
- Work across a broad spectrum of .NET technologies, including legacy and modern systems.
- Administer and troubleshoot a two-node clustered IIS environment (Pub Apps) using DFSR and a SQL backend.
- Support applications for departments such as (Human Resources, campus Police, Global Education)
- Perform SQL Server tasks (queries, troubleshootingnot full DBA responsibilities).
- Use Gitbucket (Git-based) for source control.
- Participate in an on-call rotation (1 week on, ~5 weeks off), with a focus on proactive issue resolution.
- Communicate with internal customers via a ticketing system to gather requirements, troubleshoot, and implement solutions in a collaborative, informal environment.

Skills and Requirements
- 35 years of experience programming .NET applications.
- 35 years of experience supporting Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services) server configurations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server:
- Comfortable writing queries and troubleshooting issues.
- Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and supporting third-party applications on Windows servers.
- Proficiency in: Languages: C#, VB.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript; Version Control: Git, Bitbucket, Team Foundation Server (TFS), or similar SCM systems; Infrastructure: Active Directory, DFSR (Distributed File System Replication), FTPS
- Experience developing .NET web applications using both .NET Framework and .NET Core. - Experience adapting or integrating third-party applications.
- Exposure to or interest in DevOps practices.
- Certifications such as MCSE or MCSA null
