Qualifications:
+ District Instructional Facilitators are expected to promote innovative learning and teaching by integrating effective inclusionary instructional practices, and collaborating with administration, teachers, staff, and the community to ensure a positive learning environment and a culture of high expectations for all students.
+ Valid Washington State teaching certificate or ESA certificate.
+ Bachelor or Masters Degree in education or related field.
+ Minimum of 5 years Certificated experience with diverse learners preferred.
+ Experience as a coach and thought-partner to teachers and administrators with a particular interest in the design of culturally responsive systems and learning experiences for students.
+ Ability to understand, communicate with and effectively interact with people who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse.
+ Experience teaching students at relevant K-12 levels.
+ Participation in district-level cadres and leadership teams.
+ Ability to perform a full range of teaching duties and responsibilities relating to students and the use of inclusionary instructional practices.
+ Experience designing, coordinating, and providing effective professional development to faculty, staff, and families regarding instructional practices aligned with the school and district initiatives.
+ Ability to apply instructional coaching skills to include facilitation, team building, collaboration, and effective instructional practices.
+ Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to promote innovation, change, and continuous improvement in education with teachers, students, parents, faculty, volunteers, and community representatives.
+ Ability to teach and efficiently use the district learning management systems to support teachers, students, and families.
+ Ability to effectively use G-Suite in an educational environment
+ Excellent traditional and digital communications skills including verbal, written, and visual modalities.
Essential Functions:
+ District Instructional Facilitators promote innovative teaching and learning in a variety of ways, including (1) modeling with students, teachers, administration, staff, and families how inclusive instructional practices can improve teaching and learning, (2) developing, leading, and supporting district-wide professional development for coaches, (3) teaming with teachers & coaches to use data literacy to support instructional practice, (4) and working with district and building administration to leverage inclusive instructional practices to improve teaching and learning (5) Mentor and Support District specialists and coaches (6) Work with district directors in executing district initiatives..
+ Demonstrate fluency with and support of district initiatives.
+ Facilitate, coordinate, and support adult learning of culturally responsive and research-based practices that lead to creating school environments that promote dignity and belonging.
+ Attend meetings, create content and facilitate professional learning opportunities necessary to support successful inclusive instructional practices across the district.
+ Apply comprehensive knowledge of developments and trends in inclusive instructional practices, 21st-century learning, information skills, and management issues.
+ Lead and support district initiatives by promoting inclusionary practices and integration of educational resources to support student learning.
+ Serve as a liaison and ambassador to facilitate communication and collaboration between building and district administration, teachers, and staff.
+ Collaborate with district departments such as Curriculum, Equity, Multilingual, Special Services, Career and Technical Education, and Human Resources to research, plan, and implement innovative ways to improve systems of academic and behavioral support for K-12 students.
+ Facilitate conversations that will build capacity of school employees and the community to better understand the equity imperative and the impacts of race, class, power, and privilege on marginalized student groups
+ Model effective inclusionary instructional practices and promote effective co-teaching & co-planning.
+ Model and implement effective student centered coaching and support strategies.
+ Collaborates with instructional coaches regarding the effective use of technology and resources to collect and analyze pertinent data, interpret results, and communicate findings to improve instructional practice and maximize student learning.
+ Collect data for ongoing progress monitoring and reporting with instructional coaches, regularly analyze and use data to maximize multi-tiered systems of support that identify and address root causes of disproportionality in student achievement and discipline, identify learning gaps, design appropriate acceleration plans, differentiate instructional practices, and implement these practices.
+ Promote Universal Design for Learning Principles for administration, teachers, and students.
+ Other duties as assigned

+ Considerable knowledge of the current literature, trends, and developments in the field of Equity in education
Additional Essential Functions:
+ Engage students, staff, parents, and community stakeholders in conversations that build community, support equitable environments, and prioritize the student experience
+ Engage in collegial coaching with instructional coaches, school administrators, and staff to help identify and implement successful equity-focused practices leading to closing achievement gaps
+ Support instructional coaches and administrators to lead effective school and district equity teams
+ Facilitate conversation that will build the capacity of district employees and the community to better understand the equity imperative and the impacts of race, class, power, and privilege on marginalized student groups
+ Facilitate and participate in professional learning opportunities explicitly tied to building capacity related to race, class, and equity

Benefits/Compensation:
+ Salary range 24/25: $62,925 - $118,608 (includes Base & TRI enrichment; commensurate upon FTE, degree, credits and experience). Salary schedules can be accessed here (https://vansd.org/salary-schedules/) .
+ Additional Compensation: Certificated positions may have additional pay provisions above what is represented on the salary range such as, but not limited to TRI professional learning, extended year days, extra appendix E supplemental days and professional development reimbursement. + Benefits: Employees who are anticipated to work at least 630 hours may be eligible for health, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life, and disability insurance benefits. + Time Off: Includes paid time off, sick, personal, religious, military and bereavement leave.
+ Sick Leave: 8 hours per month (part-time employee accrual will be proportionate to their FTE).
