What we want
The Writer and Editor (Communications Specialist III), under general supervision, writes, edits and curates' content to help shape how the world sees, feels and talks about our institution through compelling storytelling . This includes consideration of owned channel distribution and editing of content to appropriately align with each channel.

Salary: will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Four years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Strong written and oral communications skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects and people.
+ Ability to work professionally and harmoniously in a service-oriented position.
+ Self-motivation and ability to manage time efficiently, as well as make quick decisions, with minimal supervision.
+ Critical thinking skills.
+ Ability to collaborate successfully with internal and external teams.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Responsibilities
Content Creation and Curation
+ Creates and produces storytelling content for distribution across multiple channels, both internally and externally.
+ Collaborates on drafting copy as part of the integrated content and creative team for presentations, ad placements and other communications.
+ Develops content for digital communications including social media, internal and external email communications, and university websites.
+ Enhances awareness of Texas A&M through strategic and intentional storytelling for internal and external audiences.
Content Editing
+ Serves as peer editor of storytelling content developed for distribution across multiple channels, both internally and externally.
+ Serves as a key editor for executive communications to support editorial team colleagues as needed.
+ Edits content for digital communications including social media, internal and external email communications, and university websites.
+ Edits website content and participates in web projects with a focus on editorial review for style and accuracy.
Project Support and Coordination
+ Supports project timelines, assisting with coordination efforts across the division and university to produce internal and external content that aligns with key focus areas and emotionally driven stories relevant to key audiences.
+ Assists in developing and editing departmental communications plans, as needed.
+ Manages project planning and execution focusing on implementation in alignment with established or outlined content calendars and contributes content ideas as part of the planning process.
+ Manages tasks effectively within collaborative teams.
+ Publishes and updates content on assigned university websites.
