The Idaho Department of Labor (IDOL) has an exciting opportunity for anApprenticeship/WIOA Program Coordinator . Under the supervision of the IDOL Apprenticeship Idaho Program Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing apprenticeship and work-based learning opportunities for incarcerated and justice-involved individuals. The Apprenticeship/WIOA Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, communicating, and collaborating with employers and partners to ensure credible, high quality, and timely deliverables for the apprenticeship programs and initiatives.
This position will be employed and managed by IDOL and hosted by Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC). The successful candidate will report directly to an IDOL supervisor but will have an assigned IDOC site contact to serve as a primary point of contact for the IDOL employee. The position will primarily be based at an Idaho Department of Correction facility in Boise and may involve travel to reentry or community partner sites.
This position will require flexibility, with occasional evening or weekend hours.
This position will require a valid driver's license.

The applicant who is selected for this position will be required to pass a background check as well as a background check for to obtain clearance to work in IDOC facilities.
Example of Duties:
+ Design and implement pre-apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship programs within corrections and reentry settings.
+ Conduct onsite visits and outreach to business and industry to develop new pre apprenticeships, apprenticeships and expand existing apprenticeships.
+ Host and facilitate informational sessions and roundtable events with local industry groups and associations, to engage prospective new programs and partners.
+ Demonstrates innovative thought leadership, strategic thinking, builds trust with stakeholders and leaders, and influences others without direct authority to achieve solutions to meet program objectives.
+ Collaborate with internal Idaho Department of Corrections (IDOC) education, training, and reentry staff to align services with rehabilitation and workforce goals.
+ Build and maintain relationships with employers, unions, and training providers willing to engage justice-involved individuals.
+ Prepare timely reports on program progress, participant outcomes, and grant compliance.
+ Recruitment of IDOC residents to apply for and participate in apprenticeships.
+ Referral of IDOC apprentices releasing from incarceration to local American Job Centers for assistance in identifying opportunities/hiring employers to continue apprenticeship training in the same occupation/industry.
+ Provide support to incarcerated residents while enrolling and participating in apprenticeships.
Outreach & Collaboration
+ Serve as a liaison between IDOC, local One-Stop centers, and community-based organizations.
+ Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, reentry planning committees, and workforce events.
+ Provide training or informational sessions to IDOC and IDOL staff and community partners on apprenticeship pathways.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - You must possess all the minimum and specialty minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Good knowledge of:
+ Local workforce development office operations and service delivery systems. Typically gained by one year experience providing technical support for office activities which demonstrate office knowledge in a broad scope and beyond one program area.
+ Computerized applications used within the local office environment . Typically gained by one year of experience utilizing computer applications used in the local office environment, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and IdahoWorks.
Experience:
+ Interpreting and applying federal employment service programs, regulations, and procedures. Typically gained one year of experience working with federal/state employment service or training programs, and interpreting and applying regulations and procedures.
+ Developing and presenting training to groups in a formal setting. Typically gained by experience developing and presenting training for a minimum of 10 hours of presentation time.
Preferred Qualifications: These qualifications are preferred but not required for this position.
+ Familiarity with WIOA program requirements and the needs of justice-involved populations
+ Ability to work collaboratively within a correctional setting and adhere to facility policies and security protocols.
+ Experience working closely with public systems designed to serve individuals with barriers to employment, including public education, health and human services, child welfare, and probation systems that include programming trends for disconnected youth.
+ Two years of experience in workforce development, case management, corrections or reentry services.
