Duties Description Chief Investigative AnalystState of New York – Executive ChamberLocation: Albany, NY The Office of NYS Governor Kathy Hochul is seeking an experienced professional to join the Research and Vetting team within the NYS Executive Chamber as Chief Investigative Analyst.The incumbent will lead the Vetting team, by responding to research requests, delegating assignments, reviewing research results, and facilitating follow-up requests, as well as participating in the hiring and selection process, staff training, managing team calendars and work schedules, working with FOIL Counsel staff to respond to requests, and working with the Ethics Counsel as needed.The incumbent will also be responsible for direct research and vetting activities, including vetting individuals for appointment to executive positions, researching individuals and entities for interaction with the Governor, and presenting rapid response results in concise reports to requestors; researching, compiling, and synthesizing open source information related to participants for Governor events, candidates for executive appointments and gubernatorial appointments, potential nominees to boards commissions, and taskforces, and further information requests on past compliance with policy initiatives from Executive Chamber senior advisors, associate counsels, press, events advance, communications, and speechwriting teams; and monitoring and evaluating news cycles and social media to identify issues relevant to New York State.
Minimum Qualifications Qualifications:? Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years professional research/vetting experience.? The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal, and problem solving skills; and the ability to work effectively with staff and managers.
