Description
One of our clients in the Northwest metro is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead financial operations and support the success of the company. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes such as job costing, budgeting, and forecasting. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and play an integral role in maintaining the company’s financial integrity while contributing to strategic planning.
Responsibilities:
+ Manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including oversight of financial transactions and processes.
+ Ensure precise job costing and project accounting for excavation-related initiatives.
+ Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to aid business decision-making.
+ Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
+ Oversee budgeting and forecasting activities, delivering insights to inform strategic planning efforts.
+ Supervise and mentor accounting staff to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
+ Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, proactively mitigating risks.
+ Coordinate with external auditors during annual financial audits, ensuring seamless execution.
+ Conduct cost analyses and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting to enhance overall financial performance.
+ Collaborate with executive leadership, including the CFO and COO, to provide critical financial insights and actionable recommendations.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on project or construction accounting preferred.
• Proficiency in managing month-end close processes, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis techniques.
• Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including annual audits.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, providing mentorship and guidance.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Familiarity with work-in-progress (WIP) reporting and job costing systems is highly desirable.
