    Position: Recruiter – Class B CDL Drivers

    Position Overview:

    As a Class B CDL Driver Recruiter, you will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified candidates to meet the needs of our clients in the transportation and logistics industries. Your focus will be on building a robust pipeline of talent while maintaining strong relationships with both candidates and hiring managers. Success in this role requires an understanding of the transportation sector, knowledge of commercial driver requirements, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Candidate Sourcing and Engagement:

    + Develop and implement sourcing strategies to attract Class B CDL drivers through online job boards, social media, referrals, recruitment fairs, and other channels.

    + Build and maintain a database of qualified candidates for current and future hiring needs.

    + Screening and Evaluation:

    + Conduct thorough initial screenings to assess candidates’ qualifications, credentials, safety records, and compliance with regulations (e.g., DOT requirements).

    + Verify candidates hold the required Class B CDL license and have a clean driving record.

    + Client Collaboration:

    + Collaborate with clients to understand their staffing needs, including route schedules, shift hours, required endorsements (e.g., air brakes, passenger, HAZMAT), and other specifics.

    + Generate regular updates and reporting to hiring managers on recruitment progress and challenges.

    + Process Management:

    + Manage the recruitment lifecycle from job posting creation to onboarding, ensuring a seamless candidate experience.

    + Conduct reference checks, background screenings, and DOT-mandated verifications to comply with legal and client-specific requirements.

    + Relationship Building:

    + Establish strong relationships with local CDL driver associations, trade schools, or technical colleges to create long-term pipelines of qualified drivers.

    + Act as an advocate for candidates, presenting their skills and experience effectively to clients.

    + Data and Compliance Management:

    + Maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure all records comply with federal, state, and client-specific standards.

    + Stay updated on industry trends, hiring practices, labor laws, and DOT regulations.

    Requirements

    Qualifications and Skills:

    + Proven experience recruiting for Class B CDL drivers (or other commercial driving roles).

    + Knowledge of transportation regulations, including CDL licensing and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage drivers and clients effectively.

    + Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and proficiency with tools like LinkedIn, Indeed, and other sourcing platforms.

    + Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced staffing environment.

    + Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate successfully with internal teams and clients.

    + Preferred: Background in logistics, transportation, or staffing agency work.

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
