Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Federal Way, Washington. This role requires expertise in managing diverse accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and contributing to efficient finance operations. Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth analysis and reconciliation of complex financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage and support various accounting functions, including accounts payable, cash receipts, payroll, grants, and property accounting.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to maintain positive relationships and resolve discrepancies.

• Prepare and adjust journal entries for corrections and financial updates.

• Process daily cash receipts, reconcile deposits, and ensure proper allocation to cost accounts.

• Organize payroll tasks, calculate journal entries, and ensure compliance with tax laws and deductions.

• Perform grant-related accounting activities, including invoicing, reconciliation, and monitoring compliance throughout the grant lifecycle.

• Oversee property accounting functions such as rent roll reviews, income and expense monitoring, and construction project reporting.

• Assist in month-end and year-end closings, audits, and preparation of financial reports.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls. Requirements • Proven experience with month-end close processes, general ledger management, and account reconciliations.

• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting bank reconciliations.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when handling complex financial data.

• Knowledge of payroll systems, tax laws, and fringe benefits.

• Experience in grant accounting, including preparation of invoices and compliance monitoring.

• Familiarity with property accounting tasks, such as rent roll reviews and construction project reporting.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
