Description

Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant with a leading manufacturing company in Trenton, NJ. This organization is seeking a qualified accounting professional with a strong background in cost accounting, including standard costing methodologies. This role is available immediately, and the client is eager to onboard the right candidate as soon as possible.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, providing the flexibility and potential for long-term career growth while working within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Analyze manufacturing cost data, including material, labor, and overhead costs.

+ Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costing systems.

+ Perform variance analysis, highlighting key discrepancies in manufacturing costs and providing actionable recommendations.

+ Work closely with the production and operations teams to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and cost drivers.

+ Prepare cost estimates for new and existing products to support decision-making for pricing and budgeting.

+ Perform month-end and year-end closings for cost accounting and related reporting tasks.

+ Assist with budget preparation and forecasting related to manufacturing costs.

+ Provide recommendations for streamlining cost accounting processes and improving efficiency.

Requirements

+ Proven expertise in standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.

+ Strong knowledge of accounting principles and processes.

+ Excellent data analysis skills with proficiency in relevant accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).

+ Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data modeling).

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

+ Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

+ Ability to start immediately and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
