Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Certified Payroll Specialist to join a dynamic manufacturing team in Stockton, California. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will manage payroll processes for a large workforce while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in payroll systems and multi-state payroll operations.
Responsibilities:
• Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of over 500 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Handle multi-state payroll operations, maintaining compliance with varying state-specific regulations.
• Utilize ADP Workforce Now and other payroll systems to manage payroll data and reporting.
• Prepare certified payroll reports and manage union reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to address payroll discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain compliance with labor laws and payroll regulations, including tax filings and deductions.
• Process adjustments for employee benefits, overtime, and other payroll-related matters.
• Manage payroll records and ensure secure storage of sensitive employee data.
• Provide support during audits by preparing necessary payroll documentation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Proficiency in full-cycle payroll operations, including multi-state payroll.
• Experience with payroll systems like ADP Workforce Now; familiarity with Kronos or Viewpoint Vista is a plus.
• Knowledge of certified payroll and union reporting requirements.
• Strong understanding of labor laws and payroll compliance regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Effective communication skills to address payroll inquiries and issues.
