Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. This role requires extensive expertise in managing accounts receivable, auditing ledgers, and performing detailed reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in month-end close processes and financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive audits of accounts receivable ledgers and identify discrepancies or areas requiring reclassification.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity.

• Manage month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.

• Analyze financial data to support accurate reporting and decision-making processes.

• Prepare and review bank reconciliations to confirm alignment with financial statements.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to create and manage spreadsheets for financial tracking and analysis.

• Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and compliance initiatives.

• Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of financial records to support organizational goals.

• Investigate and resolve complex accounts receivable issues through research and analysis.

• Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial operations. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts receivable and reconciliation.

• Proficiency in month-end close processes, including general ledger maintenance and journal entries.

• Advanced knowledge of account and bank reconciliations.

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with audit procedures and compliance standards.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
