Description We are looking for an experienced Credit Manager to lead our credit and collections operations in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is essential in evaluating customer creditworthiness, setting credit limits, and developing strategies to minimize credit risk while fostering positive relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, leadership, and risk management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of credit and collections professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

• Oversee accounts receivable processes, including monitoring aging reports and ensuring timely collection efforts.

• Analyze customer financial data, credit histories, and payment trends to assess creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits.

• Develop and enforce credit policies and procedures to mitigate risk and optimize cash flow.

• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to address billing discrepancies and maintain strong client relationships.

• Prepare detailed reports and metrics on credit risk, collections performance, and accounts receivable status for senior management.

• Identify and implement process improvements and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency.

• Approve or recommend credit terms for new and existing customers, ensuring compliance with company policies.

• Coordinate with external collection agencies to recover overdue accounts when necessary. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

• Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment and effective collection strategies.

• Proven ability to analyze financial statements and credit reports.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.

• Experience in B2B environments, particularly manufacturing, distribution, or similar industries.

• Ability to foster collaboration across departments and build strong customer relationships.
