Description

We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in Columbia, Maryland, on a long-term contract basis. This position involves managing full-cycle payroll processes for a multi-state workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining employee payroll records. The role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong payroll expertise and advanced Excel skills to contribute to an organized and efficient payroll system.

Responsibilities:

• Process full-cycle payroll, including calculations, tax payments, garnishments, and other payroll-related tasks.

• Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll regulations and maintain accurate employee records.

• Utilize Excel to perform advanced functions such as VLOOKUPs for payroll data analysis and reporting.

• Assist with payroll system testing and support.

• Handle direct deposit changes, tax form distributions, and other payroll maintenance activities.

• Collaborate with the team to address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Provide initial training support by working on-site for the first few weeks, transitioning to a hybrid schedule thereafter.

Requirements

• Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing, preferably for multi-state operations.

• Proficiency with ADP.

• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to perform VLOOKUPs and other complex functions.

• Familiarity with payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling payroll data.
