Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Chesapeake, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing invoice processing, maintaining vendor records, and ensuring timely payments. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare organization.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process non-inventory invoices for the hospital and its subsidiaries to ensure timely payments.
• Handle travel reimbursement requests for subsidiary personnel with precision and efficiency.
• Reconcile accounts payable statements and prepare credit information for new vendor accounts.
• Address discrepancies and variances by collaborating with vendor representatives and sales personnel.
• Maintain and update the Vendor Master File, including adding, removing, or correcting vendor information.
• Provide monthly maintenance reports to the Controller to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Assist the Accounts Payable Lead with producing system checks, managing off-cycle checks, and maintaining organized filing systems for paid invoices and check copies.
• Review non-inventory invoices against purchase orders, accurately code them for payment, and input data into the PeopleSoft system.
• Distribute and follow up on Receipts Accrual and Accounts Payable Distribution Reports.
• Respond to inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and processing issues to support vendors and internal stakeholders. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in business, accounting, or math is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with automated accounts payable systems.
• Proficiency in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and processing.
• Strong skills in managing vendor relationships and resolving discrepancies.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle incoming calls and inquiries professionally and efficiently.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in reconciling statements and maintaining records.
