    Billing Analyst III

    Position Summary:

    The Billing Analyst III is responsible for leveraging data from the Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) and Meter Data Management (MDM) systems to support billing operations through detailed reporting, analysis, and process improvement. This role plays a key part in maintaining billing accuracy and integrity by implementing and monitoring billing controls, conducting bill reviews and reconciliations, and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics. The analyst will also support issue resolution, respond to data requests, and contribute to special projects as needed.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Develop, analyze, and maintain KPIs and performance metrics to support billing operations.

    + Perform detailed bill reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards, PUC regulations, and Retail Tariff.

    + Conduct monthly budget variance analysis and provide insights on discrepancies.

    + Evaluate existing billing controls and implement enhancements as necessary.

    + Maintain and update business process documentation and standard operating procedures.

    + Deliver training on billing processes and tools to internal stakeholders.

    + Review, test, and validate tariff rate changes within the billing system.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the meter-to-cash process to resolve billing and usage-related issues.

    + Support additional billing-related tasks and projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    + Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in billing, finance, or data analysis.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with KPI development and performance tracking.

    + Familiarity with billing systems (e.g., CC&B) and SQL querying preferred.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    + Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments.

    + Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.

    Scope & Impact:

    This role focuses on daily operational deliverables and reporting, requiring a solid understanding of billing processes and data analysis. The analyst is expected to manage their own workload, contribute to process improvements, and apply prior knowledge to resolve moderately complex issues. The position supports decision-making through data-driven insights and plays a key role in ensuring billing accuracy and efficiency.
