Millwright - Nuclear
A Nuclear Millwright is a highly skilled professional responsible for fabricating, installing, and maintaining machinery and equipment within a nuclear facility. This role involves working from field sketches, shop drawings, and blueprints to ensure precise and reliable operation of critical systems. The position requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, precision measurement, and safety protocols. Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including meeting fitness for duty requirements.
Essential Functions:
+ Perform all job duties safely according to job requirements.
+ Demonstrate proper use and care of hand tools.
+ Demonstrate proper use and care of basic measuring devices.
+ Lubricate equipment, machinery, or components per manufacturer's specifications.
+ Demonstrate proper selection and use of mechanical fasteners.
+ Demonstrate proper use and care of portable power tools.
+ Demonstrate proper use and care of stationary power equipment for machinery.
+ Fabricate items from field sketches and shop drawings.
+ Create accurate field sketches.
+ Demonstrate proper use and care of precision measuring tools.
+ Read and interpret detailed blueprints.
+ Perform detailed layout work.
+ Establish equipment or machinery center lines and elevations.
+ Perform precision installation of equipment, machinery, or components, including anchoring, leveling, and aligning.
+ Maintain a clean work area and ensure good housekeeping.
+ Perform cleanup duties.
+ Perform craft-related math.
+ Demonstrate proper use and care of oxygen and acetylene equipment.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ 3+ years of experience.
+ Prior nuclear power plant experience, highly desired.
+ Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including fitness for duty requirements.
+ Successful completion of all training including, Radiation Worker Training, Plant Access Training, Fitness for Duty, etc.
+ Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
+ Ability to assemble and disassemble objects and operate small equipment and power tools.
+ Availability for shift work, if needed.
+ Ability to support other crafts as requested.
+ Ability to work at varying heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold, and loud environments (above 89 decibels).
+ Knowledge of relevant processes and procedures.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of technical manuals and procedures.
+ Ability to pass specific training and qualifications.
+ Willingness to work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed.
+ Ability to pass all background and screening requirements, including drug and/or alcohol screening.

+ Ability to read and write complex documents in English.
