    Job Summary: Responsible for various duties related to the acquisition and optimization of medication and other inventory provided by the pharmacy department. Responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, and distribution (including reverse distribution) of inventory (including controlled substances and possible diversion) at several off-site CaroMont locations including Mt. Holly Emergency Department, CaroMont Endoscopy Center – Belmont (CEC), CaroMont Specialty Surgery (CSS), CaroMont Hematology and Oncology Infusion Center (CHO), and Lincoln Cancer Center (LOC). Coordinates transition of automated dispense equipment contents (in conjunction with Pharmacy Automation Specialist), leads continuous review and optimization of automated dispensing cabinets throughout the CaroMont Health. Serves as a back-up Pharmacy Automation Specialist in times of increased workload or during time away. Provides professional, courteous, and timely services with various customers and vendors. Assists various departmental personnel including managers, pharmacists & technicians to achieve goals of quality customer service and medication utilization.

     

    Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years experience as a pharmacy technician. Two or more years working with automated dispensing systems preferred. Time management, organizational, and strong math skills required. Flexibility in schedule required and proficiency in using multiple computer based systems (Outlook/Word/Excel, Pharmacy databases, Epic, etc.) Must be able to work independently to optimize, troubleshoot, and maintain medication supplies and automated dispensing systems. Must be cross-trained in sterile compounding including non-hazardous and hazardous preparation. Annual Registration with the NC State Board of Pharmacy is required. Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is required.
