Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior GL Accountant to join our team in San Leandro, California. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. The ideal candidate will excel in reconciliations, month-end processes, and leveraging financial systems to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

+ Lead monthly and annual closings and financial reporting.

+ Prepare journal entries and analyze financial results.

+ Review reconciliations across all accounting areas (e.g., bank, AP, accruals).

+ Oversee bank reconciliations and cash entries.

+ Manage store lease obligations and vendor billing issues.

+ Act as main contact for store-related accounting matters.

+ Research sales tax on items.

+ Support special projects and ad hoc reporting.

+ Ensure compliance with internal controls.

+ Identify and implement process improvements.

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

+ 5–7 years of relevant experience or training.

+ Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Retail and restaurant accounting experience strongly preferred.

+ Proactive, process improvement mindset with strong ownership.

+ Able to work independently and collaborate across all levels.

+ Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.

+ Performs well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.

+ Experienced in sales/use tax reporting.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.

+ ERP experience preferred, particularly SAP S/4HANA and Retail SAP.
