Description
Our client is a highly respected organization in the education sector that is dedicated to empowering students, teachers, and communities through learning. They are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support their Finance team and help ensure smooth day-to-day accounting operations. Primary Responsibilities:
+ Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including invoice processing, payment reconciliation, and payment reminders.
+ Perform data entry and maintain accurate and complete financial records in the organization’s accounting system.
+ Help prepare and review financial documents, including expense reports, purchase orders, and other accounting-related paperwork.
+ Manage and update vendor records while supporting communication efforts regarding any payment discrepancies.
+ Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and account reconciliations.
+ Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting workflows and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
+ Provide administrative and clerical support, such as filing, scanning, and organizing financial documentation.
+ Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Requirements
+ 1-2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience (education/nonprofit industry experience is a plus).
+ High school diploma required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
+ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel; experience with educational or nonprofit-specific finance systems is a bonus.
+ Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a collaborative environment.
