Description

We are actively seeking experienced HIM Associates with a strong background in working denied claims and commercial payer follow-up. This fully remote, contract-based opportunity is critical to helping our client reduce their backlog and meet compliance and revenue cycle goals. This role supports the accurate and timely resolution of denied claims, ensuring regulatory standards are upheld and that claims are processed, appealed, and reimbursed appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Review and process denied claims, with a focus on commercial payers.

+ Identify root causes of denials and take appropriate follow-up actions (appeals, corrections, resubmissions).

+ Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, regulatory standards, and internal procedures.

+ Accurately document actions and maintain detailed records of claim status and resolution steps.

+ Collaborate with billing, coding, and HIM teams to expedite resolution and reimbursement.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Experience in healthcare claims denial management, particularly with commercial payers, is required.

+ HS Diploma or GED

+ Understanding of healthcare billing, reimbursement policies, and denial reasons.

+ Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and claims systems.

+ Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and HIM/ROI best practices.

+ Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
