Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Biller with E-Billing experience to join our team in a fast-paced, professional legal environment. The role is 100% onsite in the Galleria area, offering an excellent opportunity for candidates who thrive in a collaborative work setting and have a strong background in legal billing and electronic billing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Billing Operations: Prepare, review, and process monthly client invoices in compliance with firm policies, guidelines, and client-specific billing agreements.

+ E-Billing Management: Submit and maintain invoices through various electronic billing platforms (e.g., LEDES, CounselLink, Serengeti, Legal Tracker, etc.), ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

+ Fee Analysis: Ensure time entries, rates, and disbursements align with client agreements and adjust as necessary to resolve invoice discrepancies or rejections.

+ Invoice Tracking: Monitor and follow up on the status of submitted invoices through e-billing portals to confirm prompt client payment.

+ Client Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with attorneys, legal staff, and clients to address billing inquiries and resolve issues.

+ Compliance: Maintain billing compliance for local, regional, and national clients, updating and adhering to their billing requirements and protocols.

+ Reporting: Generate and analyze billing reports, provide updates to the accounting team, and prepare detailed audit backup documentation as needed.

+ System Updates: Assist with maintaining and updating client billing guidelines or information in the billing system.

+ Problem-Solving: Research and resolve any billing discrepancies, such as declined invoices, short payments, or incorrect billing codes.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have the following experience:

Qualifications:

+ Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of legal billing experience in a law firm or legal services environment, with demonstrated proficiency in e-billing platforms.

+ Education: High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.

+ Technical Proficiency: Experience with billing software (e.g., Elite, Aderant, or Juris) and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. LEDES file knowledge is a plus.

+ Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to meet tight billing deadlines.

+ Soft Skills: Strong communication skills combined with a collaborative approach to problem-solving and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

+ Availability: Must be willing to work onsite full-time in the Galleria area.
