Description We are looking for a dedicated Medical Billing/Claims/Collections specialist to join our team in Richfield, Minnesota. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work in the non-profit sector, focusing on ensuring accurate billing, resolving claim discrepancies, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires strong organizational skills and expertise in medical billing processes to support the timely submission and reconciliation of claims.
Responsibilities:
• Submit medical claims biweekly, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all billing processes.
• Investigate and address unprocessed claims, correcting errors to facilitate payment.
• Analyze denied or underpaid claims, collaborating with relevant parties to resolve issues and resubmit them.
• Reconcile payments biweekly, addressing outstanding balances and ensuring proper application.
• Generate weekly aging reports to prioritize accounts for collection efforts.
• Document actions taken to resolve unpaid claims and escalate unresolved cases to management.
• Communicate effectively with managers, team members, program leaders, and external stakeholders to resolve billing and collection inquiries.
• Maintain outstanding balances under control, ensuring over-90-day balances remain below 5% of total accounts.
• Recommend uncollectible claims for write-off, providing monthly updates to management. Requirements • Proficiency in medical billing processes, including appeals and claim administration.
• Strong knowledge of HCPCS coding, CPT codes, and other medical coding standards.
• Experience managing accounts receivable and resolving account discrepancies.
• Ability to investigate and resolve issues related to denied or unpaid claims.
• Familiarity with medical claims systems and billing functions.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external collaboration.
• Strong organizational abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Experience in preparing aging reports and managing collections effectively.
