Description We are looking for a skilled Medical Biller/Collections Specialist to join our healthcare team in Memphis, Tennessee. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of billing processes, claim submissions, and payment collections. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality revenue cycle services.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately enter charges, including procedures, services, and administrative fees, using correct coding and modifiers.
• Verify patient information, such as age, service dates, and insurance details, to prevent billing errors or denials.
• Scrub claims for errors using billing modules and ensure corrections are made before submission.
• Submit clean claims within payer filing deadlines to reduce delays in payment.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and address rejections or denials promptly.
• Post payments accurately and follow up on unpaid claims by initiating appeals or corrections.
• Collaborate with insurance providers to resolve discrepancies and secure proper reimbursements.
• Maintain detailed documentation of billing and collection activities for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Utilize expertise in medical billing systems, preferably Netsmart, to optimize workflows.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure alignment on billing and collection priorities. Requirements • Proven experience in medical billing and collections within a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with medical billing systems; Netsmart experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding, claims submission processes, and denial management.
• Ability to analyze accounts receivable reports and address unpaid claims effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with insurance providers and team members.
• Proficiency in handling medical appeals and resolving payment discrepancies.
• Knowledge of hospital billing procedures is a plus.
