    Description

    We are in the market for a Bilingual Patient Financial Access Facilitator to be part of our team in the in GREENWICH, Connecticut. The role entails managing functions and processes related to patient registration and scheduling, ensuring the timely processing of patient visits and maintaining accurate patient and insurance information.

    Responsibilities:

    • Handle patient check-in and check-out registration and scheduling, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

    • Keep up-to-date with all insurance changes and adhere to managed care requirements and all other legislation related to the health system.

    • Verify insurance eligibility, identify and collect co-pay balances and initiate other funding referrals as outlined by departmental policy when needed.

    • Update patient demographic and insurance information promptly and accurately, adhering to Red Flag procedures to ensure patient safety.

    • Coordinate arrangements for patients who require additional assistance, such as non-English speaking, hard of hearing, disabled, etc.

    • Accurately and promptly schedule patient appointments, working in collaboration with the clinical team to align with facility schedule, staff availability, and patient needs.

    • Ensure all patient registration items are satisfied on the patient accounts, and share an equal percentage of patient registration volume.

    • Check daily and fill empty slots in the appointment waitlist/recall list.

    • Accurately create and select proper visit information, i.e., visit type, duration, and provider.

    • Document appropriate information pertaining to the visit in the appointment note field.

    • Perform other scheduling/rescheduling duties as needed.

     

    Requirements • Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to handle queries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

     

    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial matters in simple terms.

    • Proficient in documentation, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

    • Experience in training staff members and the ability to impart knowledge effectively.

    • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.

    • Knowledge of procedures and policy related to patient financial access in a retail setting.

    • Ability to schedule appointments accurately and efficiently.

    • Committed to delivering quality service and continuously reviewing processes for improvement.

    • Experience in scheduling, managing and coordinating tasks within a team.

    • Familiarity with insurance billing and reconciliations.

    • Proficient in workstation support and troubleshooting.

    • Excellent phone presence, capable of handling multiple lines and providing courteous service.

    • Familiarity with benefit functions and the ability to explain these to patients.

    • Experience with billing systems, both on-line and offline.

    • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to financial transactions.

    • Knowledge of how to use and navigate websites for patient financial access.

    • Ability to perform ad hoc financial tasks as required.

    • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

    • Familiarity with regulations related to patient financial access.

    • Experience in clinical trial operations would be beneficial.
