Description We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Real Estate Attorney to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in civil litigation and legal analysis to represent clients effectively while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This position is based in Chicago, Illinois, and offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative and meticulous environment.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in legal, administrative, and other proceedings, ensuring their interests are effectively advocated.

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to interpret laws, rulings, and regulations, providing well-founded legal opinions.

• Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and correspondence, with precision and attention to detail.

• Develop case strategies, arguments, and testimony in preparation for court presentations.

• Negotiate with parties to resolve disputes, arrange settlements, and address both routine and complex legal issues.

• Monitor case files to maintain compliance with deadlines and ensure appropriate actions are taken.

• Provide authoritative legal advice to individuals and businesses on relevant matters.

• Mentor less experienced associates, offering guidance and serving as a resource for skill development.

• Promote the firm's services to potential clients and represent the firm at community and industry events.

• Ensure adherence to consumer protection statutes, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, in all legal activities. Requirements • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

• At least 5 years of experience in civil litigation or related legal practice.

• Active licensure as an attorney in the state of Illinois.

• Strong skills in drafting motions, conducting discovery, and preparing legal briefs.

• Excellent analytical and organizational abilities with attention to detail.

• Ability to handle sensitive inquiries and complaints professionally and discreetly.

• Proficiency in interpreting complex documents and applying logical reasoning to diverse legal challenges.

• Effective negotiation skills to achieve favorable resolutions for clients.
