The Exercise Specialist II is responsible for guiding individuals in safe and effective exercise programming designed to meet the needs and requests of resident and staff within ASPIRE Wellness. The Exercise Specialist works under direct supervision of the ASPIRE Wellness Director with general exercise of independent judgment in the safe involvement of Passavant Community residents, staff, and general community. Assists in day-to-day operation of the wellness program, is responsible for monitoring and closing the fitness center during evening hours. Qualifications Exercise Specialist II: CPR/First Aid Certification required. (Two of the following are preferred) Two or four year degree in Exercise Physiology, (or related field), junior or senior status in an exercise science program, certification from a nationally recognized fitness education provider. Knowledge in planning, organizing and implementing land based and aquatics exercise programs. Experience with older adults’ fitness is preferred. Maintains all relevant certifications. Good documentation and verbal skills requires. Ability to work independently with good use of time and resources available. Must be able to react appropriately to emergencies.
