Job Description:
The Iowa State Book Store is looking to hire 2 temporary employees to work in the Art & Supplies and Clothing & Gift departments! The employment opportunity would begin in early August with flexible hours and upwards of 40 hours during Back-to-School week (August 24th - 30th). Outside of Back-to-School week, the employees will be added to the current pool of temporary employees and will have their hours scheduled as needed. Regular/consistent hours should not be expected outside of busy periods (Back-to-School week, football gamedays, etc.)
Job Duties
+ cashiering
+ assisting customers with their purchases
+ answering questions on the sales floor and/or on the phone
+ assisting with the stocking of merchandise
+ keeping the store clean and tidy
+ other duties as needed
Under direct supervision, performs routine and repetitive clerical duties to assist in a temporary capacity (less than 780 hours per fiscal year) in retail spaces and other special events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to operate office equipment.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
