About the role The Injection Mold Operator I will primarily be responsible for in-process inspection of injection molded components and conducting material movement of completed components and cleaning of auxiliary equipment. This position works under direct supervision. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc. Responsibilities Performs in-process inspection of injection molded components which includes visual inspection and/or dimensional measurement for conformance to requirements defined on drawings, Standard Inspection Plans, Visual Factory or other documents Weigh count and stage transacted molded materials for put-away Removes scrap and trash from manufacturing areas Generates production, move and scrap transactions as needed to ensure inventory accuracy Clean auxiliary equipment that supports Injection Mold process Qualifications Ability to read, understand, and navigate through online assembly process documents Ability to perform inventory movement transactions Understanding of basic math skills adding, subtracting and measuring Ability to read drawings & blueprints Ability to safely prepare, operate and clean auxiliary equipment as appropriate for the successful completion of injection molding tasks Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions both verbally and in written format Ability to use judgement to identify potential safety hazards Ability to use judgment related to identifying and segregating non-conforming materials and components Ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment Ability to multi-task Work Environment/Physical Demands: This position requires 20% clerical and planning and 80% material handling, production assembly machine operations, and/or walking and assisting production employees Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor where noise levels may be moderate or high and hearing protection may have to be worn Eye and foot protection may have to be worn There is potential for lifting weights up to 45 lbs. There is potential exposure to extreme temperatures The occasional physical demands of the position include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time Education & Experience High School education or GED preferred Minimum three (3) months experience in a manufacturing environment as an assembler, quality control or injection mold position Previous injection molding experience preferred What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical (with an HSA option), Dental, Vision and Rx coverage beginning the 1st day of the month following your start date 401(k) Program with employer matching contributions.
