The Controls Business Unit specializes in providing high quality mechanical and electronic thermostat solutions for the HVAC, agricultural, and commercial cooking markets. The person in this role will drive sales through both distribution channels and direct OEM partnerships, expanding our market presence in key sectors. Additionally, they will lead innovation efforts, ensuring our products integrate the latest technology to maintain industry-leading standards. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships is essential, providing exceptional support and tailored solutions to meet specific requirements.

The Control Program Manager is a strategic leader responsible for the growth, profitability, and product development roadmap of assigned business segments. Reporting to the Director level, this role collaborates extensively across company functions to drive revenue and support operational excellence through various initiatives and development programs. This position requires strong leadership, sales and marketing expertise, a thorough understanding of financial planning and execution, and a strong engineering background.
The Controls Program Manager will grow into a supervisory responsibility for sales and marketing personnel.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Business Segment Management:
+ Conduct thorough market analysis, including competitor analysis and customer needs assessments (customer visits, industry events, etc.).
+ Develop and execute product roadmaps, specifications, and marketing strategies (advertising, collateral materials, programs, channel selection, etc.)
+ Manage assigned business segments, creating annual operating budgets, implementing pricing strategies, and driving results against key performance indicators (KPIs).
+ Oversee product launches and other key initiatives.
+ Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring buy-in and successful execution of initiatives across various departments.
Sales & Marketing Leadership:
+ Develop and execute annual sales strategies and targets, focusing on maintaining existing customers, enhancing channel and partner effectiveness, and developing new customer relationships and geographic markets.
+ Collaborate in the development and execution of the annual corporate marketing plan, defining company and brand objectives and messaging; managing trade show participation and overseeing advertising and editorial efforts; contributing to website and collateral development.
+ Manage customer interactions, providing inside sales support, field application assistance, measuring customer satisfaction, and implementing improvements to the customer experience. This includes providing technical support and answering product-related questions.
+ Conduct market research to analyze buying trends, identify emerging customer needs, and understand market trends.
+ Prepare customer proposals, negotiate pricing, and review customer contracts.
+ Ensure compliance with Quality Manual Standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
+ Future management for direct sales and marketing personnel.
+ Channel management for OEM, Distribution and Commissioned Reps
+ Oversee the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of team members.
+ Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws (including safety, hiring, training, performance appraisal, disciplinary actions, and complaint resolution).

Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, business administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Proven track record of increasing sales and marketing success.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven presentation capabilities.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing teams.
+ Ability to travel up to 50% (valid passport required).
+ Strong engineering background with the ability to support technical questions on products.
+ Preferred: Knowledge of SOX/404 internal audit controls, Adobe Creative Cloud, and BACnet
