Helena School District # 1 has an opening for a Part-Time (0.875) General Education/Explore School Para Educator.

The Explore School Paraeducator’s position is to provide classroom and administrative support to the Explore School program at Exploration Works. This role is essential for supporting instructional activities, student supervision, record management, and parent communication to ensure the smooth operation of the Explore School learning environment. Some of what you will do:

+ Assist the Explore School teacher with classroom instruction, supervision, and behavior management as needed.

+ Support classroom setup and the preparation of materials for specialized instructional units.

+ Supervise students during lunch.

+ Take daily attendance and assist with related clerical duties.

+ Maintain and communicate with Explore School waitlists, enrollmen status and required documentation with families.

+ Manage enrollment documentation, including collection and entry of immunization records.

+ Enter and update student records in PowerSchool and track in-district vs. Out of district student enrollment.

+ Communicate professionally and consistently with administrative staff and families.

+ Maintain confidentiality and comply with district policies and state requirements.

+ Other duties as assigned.

To become part of this dedicated team, you need:

+ A High School diploma or equivalent and;

+ One (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or

+ An equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the district.

+ familiarity with online collaborative tools, i.e. SharePoint or cloud storage preffered

+ Demonstrated experience with project planning and coordination.

Preferred:

+ Two years of college education to be considered “highly qualified”

+ Experience in youth programming with an emphasis on creative science engagement strategies.

Essential functions of the position include the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

The current entry level salary range is $14.85-$17.73 per hour depending on education level and applicable relevant school-related experience as determined by the district. This position includes a comprehensive benefit package including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, 3 paid personal days, 9 paid school calendar related days, 9 paid holidays and health benefit coverage including coverage during the summer break.
