Position provides direct clinical services, including individual and group counseling,
crisis intervention, and consultation, to support the mental health and well-being of the
college student population. This role contributes to student success and retention by
promoting psychological resilience, fostering personal development, and supporting a
safe and inclusive campus environment.
Work Days: Monday - Friday
Shift Start/End Time: 8:30am-5:00pm
Hours Per Week: Up to 20 hours

Position Title: Clinician
Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, Fixed Term hourly
Supervisor: Director of the Counseling Center
Position Purpose: To provide direct clinical services, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation, to support the mental health and well-being of the college student population.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide individual counseling using a brief therapy model, and crisis intervention for psychological emergencies.
2. Conduct intake clinical interviews, including psycho-diagnostic assessment, case conceptualization, and treatment plan formulation, for students with a broad spectrum of psychological problems, ranging from adjustment issues and stress management to major psychiatric disorders.
3. Deliver high-quality evidence based evaluation and treatment skills.
4. Conduct triage, crisis and emergency intervention, assessment, referral, and consultation as well as short term focused individual counseling and therapy. Maintain statistical records and submits reports on activities. Enter timely and detailed notes for each student seen into the electronic medical record system
5. Serve as consultant and resource person for faculty and other College staff
6. Consult with college staff, class deans, etc. about counseling services available to students and related topics, assist with developing action plans for students of concern.
Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree in Counseling/Clinical Psychology required, 3-5 years of clinical experience
required.
2. Prior clinical experience with college students is desired.
3. Demonstrated autonomy, effectiveness and sensitivity in clinical work.
4. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement outreach programs, provide consultation services,
and psycho-educational workshops.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills and the ability to work as a
member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
6. Expertise in issues pertinent to a university student population and demonstrated experience in
providing therapy and support to students from at risk populations and historically under-
represented groups.
7. Practices in accordance with the ethics of his or her specific discipline, state law and within
departmental guidelines.
8. Able to introduce and drive innovation in ways small and large.
9. Able to proactively identify and pursue relevant learning and professional development
opportunities and apply new knowledge, insights, and skills to enhance results.
Compensation:
The hourly range for this position is $25.00 per hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
