Join a dynamic team in a national medical device manufacturing company based in Warsaw, IN. This site is undergoing significant transformation, having been sold and repurchased a few years back. As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will report directly to the process engineering manager and work alongside a team of technicians and engineers. This role focuses on supporting high-priority continuous improvement initiatives within CNC machining operations. You will play a key role in optimizing machining, metal finishing, and assembly processes to enhance product reliability, reduce scrap, and improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
+ Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts to address high fallout rates and chronic quality issues in CNC machining.
+ Develop, implement, and sustain manufacturing methods for machining, metal finishing, and assembly operations.
+ Support the integration of advanced machining technologies and automation, including robotics interfacing with CMMs and CNC machines.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality Engineering, Operations, Product Development, and suppliers to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
+ Apply Lean, Six Sigma, DFMEA/pFMEA, and other structured problem-solving methodologies to reduce variation and improve capability.
+ Design and review fixtures, gages, and special cutting tools in coordination with tooling teams and suppliers.
+ Develop and maintain process documentation, including setup/process sheets, CNC programs, BOMs, and routings, in compliance with ISO and internal quality systems.
+ Participate in NPI (New Product Introduction), capital projects, and risk management activities.
+ Execute and support validation/qualification strategies and ensure early involvement of relevant teams.
+ Address technical production issues and initiate cost-saving improvements in manufacturing methods.
+ Complete activities related to change control and CAPA systems in accordance with corporate procedures.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
+ 5+ years of experience as a manufacturing or process engineer within medical device manufacturing.
+ Strong understanding of manufacturing, primarily on CNC turning and CNC grinding technologies.
+ Ability to research and develop tools, processes, machines, and equipment to produce quality products economically and safely.
+ Competence in troubleshooting and resolving technical production problems in machining, metal finishing, and assembly operations.
+ Proficiency in formal problem-solving methodologies and process improvements, including Lean, Six Sigma, and process engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Validation experience is advantageous.
+ Green or Black Belt certification is a plus.
+ Experience with CNC grinding is highly preferred.
Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
