Bioprocess Technician

Job Description

Perform duties associated with aseptic processes, weighing, measuring, counting, calculations, sampling, and verifications required for biological production processes in accordance with batch production records (BPR) and in compliance with current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) standards, all current safety standards and site procedures. Basic knowledge in fermentation, centrifuge, concentration units, and biological organisms is essential. Understand basic operation of production equipment and ensure all equipment, instruments, and production materials are released and available for use.

Responsibilities

+ Oversee production processes, cleaning, environmental monitoring, and personnel.

+ Perform in-process batch quality checks per the written procedures.

+ Look up and perform transactions within the electronic inventory management system.

+ Generate or collect new ideas about workplace and processes.

+ Read and interpret batch records, quality, and safety documentation.

Essential Skills

+ Basic knowledge in fermentation, centrifuge, concentration units, and biological organisms.

+ Understanding of aseptic technique and sterile processing.

+ Ability to follow safety rules and maintain proper safety practices.

+ Basic computer skills for creating and updating standard operating procedures and writing deviation reports.

+ Additional Skills & High School Diploma required. AAS or BA in Biotechnology or a related scientific field preferred.

+ Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting is preferred.

Work Environment

Work on the production floor overseeing batches and their quality. Engage with fermentation systems, vessels, centrifuges, and other large-scale production systems. Complete instrumentation and mechanical work. Operate with a bigger picture mindset, able to think on your feet, and multitask. Work will not be conducted in a lab and will involve minimal time in office settings.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $30.75/hr.
