Associate Data Scientist
We are seeking an entry-level data scientist to support our industrial data engineering and analytics initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in data analysis and programming who is eager to build real-world experience in operating data pipelines and supporting applied data science projects in a production environment. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and data scientists to ensure smooth data flow, robust analysis, and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate and maintain industrial data pipelines, ensuring consistent data ingestion, transformation, and delivery from remote factory systems.
• Write and monitor data processing jobs in Python and Java to clean, validate, and prepare time series and event data for downstream use.
• Develop basic statistical summaries, trend detection tools, and anomaly monitors to support operational analytics and model development.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists to define data needs, assess data quality, and refine feature engineering strategies.
• Support ongoing data science initiatives by preparing datasets, running model inference jobs, and building evaluation reports.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of tools, dashboards, and ETL workflows to support reproducibility and observability.
• Gain exposure to streaming data technologies (e.g., Apache Pulsar), containerized workflows (Docker), and distributed systems architecture.
• Understand and contribute to the broader ecosystem of operational technology, including interactions between the data layer and industrial control systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Solid foundation in Python, pandas is required.
• Experience or coursework in Java is preferred (or a strong interest in learning it).
• Exposure to modern development tools like Git, Docker, and VS Code is a plus.
• Familiarity with web development concepts, including the request/response cycle, APIs, and basic data structures and algorithms.
• Motivated to learn, comfortable asking questions, and able to work independently with mentorship.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.30 - $63.77/hr.
