Job Title: Labeling and Compliance Specialist
Job Description
The Labeling and Compliance Specialist will provide vital support to ensure that the company's products and labeling meet Federal, State, local, and export regulations. This role involves reviewing and proofreading labeling and artwork for accuracy and regulatory compliance, and providing guidance on formatting to ensure adherence to FDA, USDA, and other global regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Review and proofread product labeling and artwork for accuracy and compliance.
+ Guide formatting of labeling and packaging to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and global market regulations.
+ Collaborate with export consultants on formula and label validation for global market compliance.
+ Evaluate ingredients for regulatory compliance with US and export food regulations.
+ Provide input on internal ingredient specifications to ensure regulatory and internal compliance.
+ Determine labeling terms for finished products with consideration of business transparency.
+ Assist in ensuring all packaging has accurate Nutritional labeling information.
+ Maintain knowledge of regulatory landscape affecting the food industry.
+ Participate in cross-functional teams for innovation and reformulation projects.
+ Develop strategies to comply with upcoming regulatory requirements.
+ Manage multiple projects to ensure timely delivery of ingredient information.
+ Participate in customer FSQ aspects with the FSQ Systems team.
+ Assist FSQ Systems team with compliance to customer and regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in FDA and/or USDA labeling regulations.
+ Proven ability to exercise accurate judgment and evaluate information critically.
+ Ability to interpret and execute plans or instructions in a time-sensitive manner.
+ Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet ambitious deadlines.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical data sheets and industry documentation.
+ Ability to travel if needed, with valid driver's license and insurance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of food safety labeling systems, GFSI, SQF, BRC, HACCP.
+ Experience with quality assurance and GMP audits.
+ Understanding of kosher, halal, USDA, non-GMO, regulatory standards.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Work Environment
This is an on-site office-based role within the Food Safety Department, providing opportunities for growth within a dynamic organization.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr.
