    Job Title: Manufacturing Test EngineerJob Description

     

    The Manufacturing Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures in manufacturing processes, especially during new product introductions and volume ramp-up phases. This role involves analyzing test data, reporting yields, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality. The engineer manages test and manufacturing operations at Contract Electronic Manufacturing sites, oversees supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, and delivery, and utilizes Statistical Process Control tools for process output reporting. Additionally, the role includes participating in production and quality meetings, supporting test technicians in troubleshooting and repairing test equipment or electronic assemblies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma and Design for Manufacturing methodologies while maintaining clear communication with development and production teams.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide training and ensure SOP manufacturing processes are utilized, supporting new product introduction during the NPI phase and volume manufacturing ramp-up.

    + Report yield, analyze test data, and implement improvements to the test and manufacturing process.

    + Manage test and manufacturing processes at Contract Electronic Manufacturing sites.

    + Oversee ongoing cost, quality, and delivery performance management of external suppliers.

    + Conduct process output reporting using Statistical Process Control tools such as Cp and Cpk.

    + Participate in production and quality meetings with the CEM engineering team.

    + Assist manufacturing test technicians in troubleshooting and repairing failed test equipment and electronic assemblies/PCBA’s.

    + Drive process improvements and product quality using Six Sigma and Design for Manufacturing tools, and communicate issues to relevant development and production teams.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in test equipment and test development.

    + Experience in manufacturing and test engineering.

    + Understanding of test procedures, lean Six Sigma, and Kaizen.

    + Knowledge of PCBA and project management.

    + Ability to read wiring diagrams and PCBA schematics.

    + Data analysis and troubleshooting skills.

    + Collaboration with design engineers, production teams, and quality assurance.

    + Compliance with industry regulations, ISO standards, and integrity policies.

    + Experience in project management related to process enhancements and new product introductions.

    + Documentation and standardization skills, including developing detailed work instructions and process flow diagrams.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + BS/BA, B Eng Degree or equivalent in related work experience required.

    + Minimum 3 years of industry experience, preferably within the electronics sector.

    + Experience with volume production test methodology such as ICT, Flying Probe, AOI.

    Work Environment

    This is a 100% remote, autonomous role, working with NPI and Production teams in addition to the Test team.     The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
