The Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) Clinical Nurse Educator plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care and counseling within the Medication Therapy Program. This position requires a passionate and committed individual who excels in communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and driven to support team members in achieving the mission of providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
+ Counsel and educate existing patients on REMS FDA-mandated medications, including reading statements verbatim as required.
+ Ensure patients and their caregivers are informed about their therapy to promote medication adherence and facilitate refill deliveries.
+ Collect copays, if applicable, while adhering to contracted and accrediting regulations.
+ Complete thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
+ Discuss potential and current side effects with patients to educate them about treatment alternatives and promote therapy adherence.
+ Identify and report adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) to the manufacturer, FDA, and other governing authorities.
+ Verify and educate on specialty drugs, acting as a conduit between providers and patients to support therapeutic longevity.
+ Maintain patient demographic records and medical history in compliance with federal HIPAA standards.
+ Collaborate with Pharmacy Support teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of specialty drugs.
Essential Skills
+ Registered Nurse with a current unrestricted compact state license or primary NC licensure.
+ Associates, Bachelor, or higher degree in Nursing or accredited nursing diploma.
+ Ability to obtain licensing in all states and U.S. territories serviced within 3 months of employment.
+ 5 or more years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in inpatient or outpatient care preferred.
+ Proficiency in computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheet, and web-based programs.
+ Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, with experience in motivational interviewing preferred.
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret practice standards, professional journals, and technical procedures.
Work Environment
The position requires working in the office for the first 3 months, after which the team works from home. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
