Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) SpecialistJob Description
As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will collaborate with the Senior EHS Manager to design and roll out training initiatives, policies, and procedures that foster a safe and regulation-compliant workplace. Your primary focus will include managing waste, conducting risk evaluations, investigating incidents, and ensuring adherence to environmental and safety standards throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
+ Contribute to the creation and delivery of EHS training across all levels of the organization to promote compliance and safety consciousness.
+ Draft and enforce SOPs related to environmental, health, and safety operations.
+ Assist in overseeing the Workers' Compensation Program, ensuring effective claim handling and injury prevention strategies.
+ Initiate and maintain proactive health and safety programs to reduce hazards and support employee wellness.
+ Manage the handling and disposal of hazardous, non-hazardous, and biomedical waste in coordination with certified vendors, championing waste reduction and cost-efficiency efforts.
+ Organize and monitor routine industrial hygiene and environmental testing.
+ Perform assessments on chemicals, tools, and processes to recommend safety controls and PPE.
+ Maintain precise and compliant EHS documentation in line with regulatory standards.
+ Lead initiatives that promote behavior-based safety practices to continuously improve workplace safety culture.
+ Direct the investigation of workplace incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
+ Oversee the First Aid team and enhance procedures for AED, spill kits, and emergency response.
+ Stay current on site-specific permits and ensure all operational activities align with permit requirements.
+ Represent EHS in projects involving new equipment, process changes, or facility upgrades to ensure compliance.
+ Act as the EHS liaison during inspections and audits, ensuring readiness and documentation accuracy.
+ Compile and file required environmental and safety reports such as EPCRA, AOR, and hazardous waste filings.
+ Conduct and document Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.
+ Uphold the organization’s Code of Conduct and ensure all activities meet legal and ethical standards.

+ Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficient in regulatory interpretation and documentation.
+ Skilled in leading investigations and developing training content.
+ Familiar with FDA, cGMP, and EHS-related SOPs.
+ Strong communication, analytical, and project management abilities.
+ Comfortable with Microsoft Office and EHS software platforms.
+ Capable of applying mathematical and statistical concepts to real-world scenarios.
+ Able to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ At least five years of experience in EHS or a related field, ideally within industrial or manufacturing settings.
+ Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals or electronics is a plus.
+ CPR/First Aid certification is mandatory.
+ Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
+ Experience with industrial hygiene and safety compliance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $46.63/hr.
