    Job Title: Field Service Engineer

    Job Description

    The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to complete installations and troubleshoot automated foundry equipment.

     

    The engineer will travel both nationally and internationally for approximately 60% of the year.

     

    + Remote work is possible for candidates in PA, GA, WI, IL, MI and IA

    + If candidate is outside of MI, travel may exceed 60% due to customer locations

    + The projects typically last up to a week, although longer durations may occur occasionally.

     

    The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and PLCs.

     

    This role requires strong customer-facing skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with both internal and external employees.

    Responsibilities

    + Installation, setup, inspection, service, and maintenance of various product lines in foundry and automotive plants.

    + Conduct run-off of assorted foundry automated equipment and specialized conveyor systems for the automotive industry.

    + Maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers.

    + Positively represent the company's interests at the customer plant.

    Essential Skills

    + Troubleshooting and installation of large industrial equipment.

    + PLC troubleshooting in AB/Siemens

    + Ability to travel nationally and internationally for 60% of the year.

    + Certificate or Degree from a technical school OR 3+ years of related experience.

    + Strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.

    "Nice to have" Qualifications

    + Foundry experience.

    + Engineering Degree.

    + Military experience.

    + In-house manufacturing experience.

    + Field service experience.

     

    Work Environment

     

    This position requires extensive travel, with 60% of the time spent on the road and 40% on-site in Grand Ledge, MI, unless working remotely, which may increase travel to 80%.

     

    When not traveling, responsibilities include online troubleshooting, documentation, and computer work.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
