Overview:

As a Home Solutions Advisor, you'll serve as a trusted guide to homeowners exploring replacement options for heating, cooling, or plumbing systems. Your role is to build relationships, ask thoughtful questions, and recommend solutions that align with our standards of craftsmanship, care, and efficiency. You'll help customers move from service issues to long-term solutions—with clarity and peace of mind.
Key Responsibilities
+ Serve as the bridge between our Service Team and Install Team, helping customers transition from urgent repairs to planned, long-term solutions.
+ Follow up on high-value service calls to explore replacement opportunities with customers.
+ Conduct in-home consultations, assess customer needs, and present solutions using approved company tools and methods.
+ Offer clear, respectful guidance on systems, efficiency options, and financing. You'll never pressure—only serve.
+ Collaborate with Service Techs, CSRs, and the Service Manager daily to identify opportunities and support seamless handoffs.
+ Ensure all job notes, pictures, and customer information are entered into our system clearly and completely—setting up our install team for a successful project.
+ Participate in weekly service and sales meetings, sharing insights and learning.
+ Take part in company trainings and demonstrate application of learned skills in the field.
+ Follow up after installations for quality checks, gather customer feedback, and plant referral seeds (yard signs, door hangers, online reviews).
+ Represent JM Lapp with professionalism in every interaction—in the home, the office, and the community.
Success Profile
Required:
+ Growth mindset. Always looking to improve, NOT prove.
+ 2+ years of consultative, face-to-face sales experience
+ Comfortable working directly with homeowners in their homes
+ Tech-savvy with ability to use phones, tablets, and CRM tools
+ Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Preferred:
+ 5+ years of direct to consumer, retail or in-home sales
+ Goal-oriented and intrinsically motivated
+ Excellent communicator who builds trust quickly
+ Organized, with the ability to manage follow-ups and multiple leads
+ Professional in appearance and presence
+ Deep listener with an understanding of sales psychology
+ A natural relationship-builder who sees sales as service
Schedule & Compensation
+ Typical workday starts in the office to sync with the Service Team and then transitions into the field by 8:00am.
+ Field time is focused on in-home consultations, follow-ups, and customer touchpoints.
+ Flexible hours based on customer needs and seasonal demands.
+ Compensation includes base salary, commission, and performance bonuses
+ Company car
+ Health, Dental, Life Insurance, Simple IRA Contribution with 3% company match
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
+ You'll need to inspect attics, crawlspaces, and exterior systems. This may include climbing ladders and occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs).
+ Must be comfortable in varying home environments—tight spaces, dusty areas, and outdoor weather.
+ Majority of time is spent in the field and homes. Office presence is essential for alignment and team communication.
