Summary of Position
This full-time position is responsible for independently managing a comprehensive communications program that supports and promotes the College’s mission, vision, and initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong writing, visual, and digital communication skills and a collaborative mindset to serve internal and external audiences. Reporting to department leadership, the Coordinator will collaborate with the department head to develop and execute strategic communications and branding initiatives that enhance CTC’s visibility and engagement.
Minimum Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education required; or Associate’s Degree with an additional one year experience.
Degrees in marketing, communications, graphic design or related field preferred
Minimum Required Experience
Two years paid work experience in communications or marketing with a Bachelor’s degree; OR Three years paid work experience in communications or marketing with an Associate’s degree.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Strategic Communication: Strong knowledge of communication principles, practices, and strategies, including the ability to develop and implement effective, audience-focused communication plans.
+ Content Creation: Proficiency in writing, editing, and proofreading for a variety of formats (press releases, social media, newsletters, website, etc.) with attention to tone, voice, and clarity.
+ Digital and Social Media: Demonstrated ability to manage content across digital platforms, including websites, email marketing tools, and major social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, etc.).
+ Design Literacy: Familiarity with visual design principles and experience using design and publishing tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), or equivalent.
+ Project Management: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with diverse teams, departments, and stakeholders; excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
+ Media Relations: Understanding of media relations and the ability to craft media-friendly content, respond to media inquiries, and maintain positive relationships with press contacts.
+ Event Coordination: Experience with event planning logistics, vendor coordination, and promotional support to ensure successful execution and post-event communication.
+ Analytical Thinking: Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and tools using analytics, feedback, and reporting metrics.
+ Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities, and able to respond flexibly to new challenges and opportunities.
+ Technology Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, content management systems ( CMS ), email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp), and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Trello, Asana).
Salary 1J/Per Salaried pay scale
Hours Full-time, indicate working hours - M-Th 7:30 am-5:30 pm; F 7:30-11:30 am
