    Job Description

    This position involves setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining various press equipment. Responsibilities include performing all make-ready tasks such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, checking for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, and adjusting tension and register. The role requires making necessary color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specifications, as well as cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining the press through minor repairs and periodic maintenance.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a variety of press equipment.

    + Perform make-ready tasks such as hanging plates or installing cylinders.

    + Examine plates and cylinders for imperfections and check image positioning.

    + Prepare blankets and adjust tension and register.

    + Make color corrections and press adjustments to maintain quality standards.

    + Clean, lubricate, and maintain press equipment.

    + Perform minor repairs and replace worn or broken parts.

    + Conduct periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.

    Essential Skills

    + Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, and specifications.

    + Understanding of equipment and safety requirements.

    + Ability to read and comprehend job specifications.

    + Knowledge of press capabilities and settings.

    + Proficiency in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs.

    + Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align printing plates.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with color matching and color correction.

    + Skills in screen printing and machine operation.

    + Knowledge of spectrophotometry and formulation.
