Job Title: Welder and Fabricator

Job Description

This position involves working in a steel bending and fabrication metal shop, primarily handling structural steel projects using carbon steel. The role may also require work with other metals and welding processes. We seek a MIG and TIG welder interested in a long-term role with growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

+ Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metal projects, primarily focusing on structural steel.

+ Support additional projects involving other metals and welding processes.

+ Interpret and work from blueprints and fitting instructions.

+ Operate shears, grinders, and torches for fabrication tasks.

+ Ensure welding tasks adhere to AWS standards.

Essential Skills

+ 3+ years of MIG and TIG welding experience.

+ Ability to perform basic shop duties in an industrial metal shop.

+ Experience in structural steel fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 6g Certification or ability to obtain certification.

+ Willingness to join Local 516 Union upon 180 days of employment.

Work Environment

Work in an industrial metal bending and fabrication shop on the day shift, with hours from 5:30-2:00 or 7:30-4:00. The environment supports various weld tests including overhead, horizontal, vertical, and flat positions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
